Abstract

This reference architecture covers the VMware Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) products. SDDC consists of a fully virtualized infrastructure of not only servers that use vSphere, but also virtual storage via vSAN, virtual networking via NSX, and cloud solutions via vCloud suite or vRealize suite. VMware vCloud Suite is an integrated offering for building and managing a VMware vSphere-based private cloud that can dramatically improve efficiency, agility, and control for IT organizations. VMware vRealize Suite is a cloud management platform purpose-built for the hybrid cloud and provides a comprehensive management stack for IT services on vSphere and other hypervisors, physical infrastructure, and external clouds, all with a unified management experience.

This document describes the reference architecture for deploying SDDC with Lenovo servers and Lenovo networking. Performance and sizing information is provided with the best practices and networking considerations for implementing the SDDC products. The intended audience of this document is IT professionals, technical architects, sales engineers, and consultants to assist in planning, designing, and implementing VMware SDDC products.
