Models

Factory-integrated models of the appliances and certified nodes are configured by using the Lenovo Data Center Solution Configurator (DCSC), http://dcsc.lenovo.com

During the configuration process, you are selecting one of the base Configure-to-Order (CTO) models first, and then you are adding components (processors, memory, drives, and network adapters) to the selected model according to the output from the Nutanix Sizer tool, http://services.nutanix.com/

Note: You are required to engage a Lenovo representative in the project that includes the ThinkAgile HX Series appliances. ThinkAgile HX Certified Nodes do not have this requirement.

The following table lists the base CTO models.

Memory

The HX 1U systems support up to 12 DIMMs per processor. The HX1320 and HX1321 support 1 processor and 12 DIMMs. The HX2320, HX2321, HX3320, and HX3321 all support 2 processors and 24 DIMMs. Each processor has six memory channels (two integrated memory controllers with three memory channels per memory controller), and there are two DIMMs per channel.

Memory maximums are as follows:

  • HX1320 and HX1321: 384 GB
  • HX2320 and HX2321: 1.5 TB
  • HX3320 and HX3321: 3.0 TB
  • HX3320 and HX3321 for HANA: 3.0 TB

Only specific memory capacities are supported and only with certain DIMM combinations. In most configurations, all DIMMs must be of the same type, speed, rank, and capacity (the same part number or feature code). The only exception is with 576 GB of memory capacity, in which a combination of 16 GB and 32 GB DIMMs is used, and all DIMMs in the appliance must be of the same type and speed.

For more information about memory support, see the SR630 product guide:
https://lenovopress.com/lp1049-thinksystem-sr630-server#memory-options

The following tables list the memory options that are available for selection for each HX system. It is possible to expand memory capacity after the initial deployment by adding more memory DIMMs to match one of the supported memory configurations.

Internal storage configurations of the HX 1U systems are as follows. All drives are hot-swap and are accessible from the front or rear of the system:

  • HX1320 and HX1321:
    • Front drive bays: 4x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA
    • Rear drive bays: No support
  • HX2320 and HX2321
    • Front drive bays: 4x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA
    • Rear drive bays: No support
  • HX3320 and HX3321
    • Front drive bays: 6x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA and 4x 2.5-inch AnyBay
    • Rear drive bays: 2x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA

Parts-only service does not include a service technician being dispatched onsite. Parts must be changed at customer’s own cost and labor and defective parts must be returned following the instructions supplied with the spare parts.
