Abstract

This reference architecture covers the VMware Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) products. SDDC consists of a fully virtualized infrastructure of not only servers that use vSphere, but also virtual storage via vSAN, virtual networking via NSX, and cloud management platform using vCloud suite. This document also covers components required to be used for integrating an on-premise VMware vRealize cloud with Amazon AWS public cloud as well as support for multiple regions either in the same data center or across data centers

This document describes the reference architecture for deploying VMware SDDC with Lenovo ThinkSystem servers using Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and Lenovo networking. Performance and sizing information is provided with the best practices and networking considerations for implementing the SDDC products. The intended audience is IT professionals, technical architects, sales engineers, and consultants to assist in planning, designing, and implementing VMware SDDC products.
