Abstract

Withdrawn: The products described in this document are now withdrawn from marketing.

This document describes a low-cost solution for Microsoft® Exchange Server 2013 that is based on Lenovo® System x3550 M5 servers and Lenovo Storage S2200. The Lenovo Storage S2200 SAN array offers simplicity, speed, and scalability. Choose between SAS, Fibre Channel or iSCSI to integrate into your existing network. The S2200 supports up to 96 drives and can have mixed LFF (large form-factor) and SFF (small form-factor) enclosures in the same array. This solution is aimed at small-to-medium sized organizations and provides a site-resilient, highly available infrastructure that runs in two data centers, each having two x3550 M5 servers and a dual-controller S2200 storage system.

The intended audience of this document is IT professionals, technical architects, sales engineers, and consultants to assist in planning, designing, and implementing Microsoft Exchange Server 2013. The solution is based on the Microsoft Exchange Solution Reviewed Program (ESRP) that was developed by Microsoft Corporation to provide a common storage testing framework for vendors to provide information on its storage solutions for Microsoft Exchange Server software.

Note: A partner solution based on the Lenovo Storage S3200 is for customers who require additional storage expansion or throughput requirements (the S3200 supports twice the number of drives and twice the read/write throughput of the S2200).
